ALUMNAE ASSOCIATIONOn November 5, 1896, The Academy of Saint Elizabeth Alumnae Association held its first official meeting, with Sister Mary Pauline Kelligar, Academy Directress, as Honorary President. It has thus become the oldest established support organization for the Academy, formed and sustained by a large group of ladies who have taken stewardship very seriously over the years. More than a century later, the Alumnae Association continues to serve as an integral part of our development. Each alumna is a descendent of those first girls; each is a link that takes us back to our earliest days; each is a force that will move us firmly into a very distant future. Our alumnae are an unbroken line of students, experiences, and ideals who encourage standards and values that are the hallmark of the Academy even today. The willingness of the women, who were girls together at the Academy, to foster excellence in their alma mater has everything to do with the success Saint Elizabeth’s has enjoyed for almost 150 years. Alumnae initiatives to advance excellence with scholarship programs and the support of capital improvements such as the Auditorium in the early years, more recently the Science Center and, soon enough, our new Technology Center, are tangible proof that the young women who have been launched from the Academy, never really leave us.
